Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Janice Chan

From an early age, I knew I wanted to help others reach their full health potential through natural alternatives. I didn't know how I was going to do that until I started seeing a Chiropractor when I was 14 years old with hip pain and constant headaches. That's how my Chiropractic journey started and I haven't looked back since.

I completed my double degree in Chiropractic in 2010 and have been in practice for over 16 years.

One of the most rewarding things about being a Chiropractor for me is empowering people about how amazing and powerful their body is, improving their health holistically and seeing them make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

I am passionate about caring for whole families and people of all ages. It is never too late or too early to start looking after your body and health. An area of special interest for me is women's health and hormones, for which I've just completed my postgraduate diploma in.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, my two Chow Chow fur-babies and friends. I love food (specifically eating it!) and travelling. I love to ski, snowboard and scuba-dive and lead an active lifestyle.

I love to learn and grow, bettering my self and sharing my passion with others. I'm also a breathwork facilitator, NET, NLP and EFT/Tapping practitioner. I love holding space and hosting workshops and events to help with nervous system and emotional regulation.

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Katie Legge

My journey into chiropractic began as an early teenager when my sister and I were assessed for scoliosis. Experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care firsthand inspired me to pursue a career where I could help others in the same way.

Throughout my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Macquarie University in Sydney, I was fortunate to work alongside my childhood chiropractors as their chiropractic assistant. Learning from experienced practitioners gave me invaluable insight into care for practice members and laid the foundation for the caring person-centred approach I continue to practice today.

Now, after five years at The Spine Studio, I feel grateful to be caring for our local community. I particularly enjoy supporting families through every generation and stage of life, with a special passion for pregnancy care. It is because of this particular interest that I have become Webster Technique certified - a fundamental technique to help optimise pelvic mechanics and neurological function in pregnancy, ready for birth.

I believe movement is one of the foundations of good health, and I love helping people find practical ways to move, function, and feel their best. Every person deserves to understand how their nervous system can be the key to unlocking their best health yet, where your body can thrive, heal and feel amazing.

When I'm not in the practice, you'll usually find me exploring the outdoors with my husband and our rambunctious dog, Piper, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen (usually between chunky cookies or middle eastern cooking), or testing my brain by practicing classical piano.

I look forward to welcoming you to The Spine Studio and helping you on your journey to better health

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Michael Crockett

My journey in healthcare began with a fascination for the human body. I initially studied psychology and biology, followed by exercise physiology. After a brief stint as a personal trainer, my desire to actively contribute to the body's healing process led me to pursue naturopathy and acupuncture. Seeking to expand my knowledge further, I eventually found Chiropractic, which provided me with the comprehensive tools needed to address various health concerns.

After graduating as a Chiropractor, which marked approximately 15 years of tertiary education, I invested countless hours in mastering different Chiropractic techniques. My approach revolves around a combination of Neural Organization Technique (NOT), Applied Kinesiology (AK), and Afferent Input.

I primarily focus on identifying and restoring weak muscles that control joint movement, using Chiropractic techniques to enhance muscle function and skeletal stability. My ultimate objective is to transition patients from under-functioning to full function and optimal performance. I have taken a special interest in retained neonatal reflexes as well.

I am deeply passionate about my career as a Chiropractor, as it enables me to play a pivotal role in improving people's quality of life through enhanced health.

I have a keen interest in various martial arts and over the past 20 years have obtained a black belt in Aikido, Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and an Orange belt in Judo.  I am a family man with two kids of my own and speak fluent Portuguese as well.

My journey with massage began 5 years ago when I took a leap of faith and decided to try my hand at Remedial massage with the move to focus on rehabilitation and injury management.

Within two weeks of the course, I knew this was where I wanted to be and decided to quit the corporate world after 10 years and pursue a whole new career.

As I got further through my studies, my passion also moved towards Pregnancy Massage and I wanted to support women during the amazing transformation pregnancy has on our bodies and minds.

When I fell pregnant with my first daughter, I learnt so much more about the body and the ways we can support it during pregnancy. This is when I began to undertake regular chiropractic care at The Spine Studio.

My own pregnancy sparked a huge passion in women’s health, but also identified gaps in both the need for more specialised care to support a women’s body during pregnancy, as well as emotional support for women post baby. So on top of my body work qualifications I have also completed my training to be a post natal doula and optimal maternal positioning ambassador.

In my spare time I soak up all the things motherhood has to offer with my two girls. We love going to the beach, indulging in delicious food and spending time with our friends and family.

Practice Manager & Chiropractic Assistant

Georgia

In November 2022, I made a big move—leaving the tropical humidity of Cairns (one of the most humid places in Australia) for the dry heat of Perth, WA.

Coming from a background in banking and finance, I transitioned into the healthcare space and now work as Practice Manager here at the studio. I oversee the daily operations and support our team of Chiropractors and our Remedial Massage Therapist. We’re all committed to creating a space that’s welcoming, connected and grounded in genuine care—where people feel heard, supported, and inspired on their health journey.

I grew up on a property just outside of Cairns, surrounded by animals and open space. When I was 21, I renovated my first home with my dad, a three-year project that was tougher than expected, but taught me resilience, patience and how fulfilling it is to create something from the ground up.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors hiking, doing road trips around WA or adventuring with my beautiful malamute. One day, I hope to get into farming—having my own land, animals and a lifestyle that brings me back to my roots.

Whether we’re chatting about wellness, renovations, or four-legged friends; I’m always happy to connect with you at your next visit!

My affinity for fostering connections with individuals, coupled with my extensive experience in event and volunteer management, underscores my commitment to cultivating meaningful experiences.

Driven by a profound appreciation for the transformative power of yoga and meditation in my own life, I embarked on a journey to become a certified yoga teacher. My dedication to fostering holistic well-being is evident in my passion for imparting trauma-informed and mental health-aware practices to my students.

Originally from beautiful British Columbia, Canada, I find solace and joy in the great outdoors alongside my husband and two children. Whether trekking the Bibbulmun Track, immersing myself in the serenity of camping, or heading to the beach with my Border Collie, Banksy, I embrace every opportunity to connect with nature.

With a love for English and creative writing, I am always happy to chat about your latest read or book recommendation.

I have always been interested in the body and fitness, but it was when I started running a Chiropractic practice with my husband that I truly began to understand chiropractic and the difference it can make in people’s lives.

During this time, I attended a Chiropractic conference led by a doctor who presented on what optimal health is and how to achieve it. This experience inspired me to learn all I could about nutrition and its role in health outcomes, which led me to obtain my diploma in functional nutritional therapy. It is incredibly rewarding to help people realise they have a choice in their health and then assist them in reaching their health goals and potential.

Shortly after graduating, I moved to the Netherlands with my family. We enjoyed living and working there, learning the language, and traveling throughout Europe.

Now that I am back, I feel fortunate to be working once again as a Chiropractic assistant. I love meeting people, making them feel welcome, and helping them get the most from their care.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and tending to my garden and plants. I also love continuing my learning and am always on the lookout for the latest information on health and nutrition.

Growing up as a dancer, I developed a deep appreciation for how the body moves and how important it is to take care of it. Throughout my dancing years, I regularly saw a Chiropractor, which helped me stay strong, recover well, and understand the power of proactive care. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career in Chiropractic so I could help others feel supported in their own health journeys.

I'm currently in my fourth year of study at Murdoch University to become a Chiropractor and absolutely love what I do. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey is meeting new people and seeing how Chiropractic care can give them the tools and confidence to take charge of their own health and recovery.

When I’m not working or studying, you’ll likely find me dancing, reading, spending time with friends and family, or exploring the outdoors with my dogs. I’m passionate about maintaining an active and balanced lifestyle.
