MEET THE TEAM
Dr. Janice Chan
DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC (BSc, BChiro)
My chiropractic journey started from being under care myself at the age of 14. From an early age, I knew I wanted to help others reach their full health potential through natural alternatives.
I completed a five year, double degree to attain my chiropractic qualifications - Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) and Bachelor of Chiropractic.
One of the most rewarding things I get from being a chiropractor is empowering people about their body, their health and seeing them make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
I am passionate about caring for whole families and people of all ages.
"It is never too late or too early to start looking after your body and health."
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and two fur-babies. I enjoy food (especially eating it!) and travelling. I love to ski, snowboard and scuba-dive, leading an active lifestyle.
Dr. Ash Jones
DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC (BSc, BChiro)
WARWICK & YANCHEP STUDIOS
I started my journey to becoming a chiropractor after having 3 children in 3 years and experiencing lower back pain. After experiencing first hand how chiropractic care helped me and my 18 month old baby, I decided I had found my calling in life.
I deferred my studies in history and education and sought work as a chiropractic assistant. I got to see on a daily basis the impact of chiropractic in people's lives.
After a whirlwind weekend attending a chiropractic conference, I began studying Chiropractic at Murdoch University. I have already had some amazing opportunities to travel all over Australia and to South Africa as part of my desire to grow and develop throughout my studies.
I worked as a chiropractic assistant during my 5 years of study and have been so fortunate to work with some truly amazing Chiropractors along the way. I'm now so excited to help people live more connected lives.
Dr. Ina Timms
DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC (BSc, BChiro)
I was first introduced to Chiropractic at the age of 13. My dad took me to his chiropractor the day before I was due to fly out to compete at the Norwegian Championships.
The chiropractor actually came into work at 5 am the next morning when I was flying out to see me and I thought, 'Wow this guy is so dedicated, and really cares about my health'.
The experience had such an impact that in that moment I realised this was a profession for me!
After 5 years at university, I also completed further studies in chiropractic care for children. This is an area I am most passionate about.
As a mum myself, I take great pride in being able to support mums-to-be on the special journey through pregnancy, birth and beyond.
I love sharing the power of natural alternatives and empowering families about their health.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 little girls and our fur baby Viggo.
We enjoy being active together as a family, some of our favourite places involve the beach or pools!
After beginning care as a practice member and experiencing first hand the way my overall health and wellbeing improved, I took the opportunity to be part of the team that had facilitated my change in views around health and wellness.
I have been working at The Spine Studio for over 4 years now. Being part of such an inspiring team and having the privilege of meeting and building relationships with so many of our amazing members is something I am so grateful to experience.
What I find most gratifying about working in this field is seeing how much people change and improve in many aspects of their health and wellbeing.
In my spare time I have continued my journey, learning about conscious living and mindfulness, implementing healing and growth not just to my physical health, but my mental wellbeing as well.
Originally from Canada, in 2018 I graduated business school and moved to Australia.
On arrival, I began working as a personal assistant for a family in WA’s far north. The mother was a chiropractor who owned two clinics in the Pilbara, and this was my first real experience with chiropractic - a very intensive and behind-the-scenes view. Fast forward and I have now made many wonderful connections in the chiropractic world, one of which being the Spine Studio.
Outside of work, I am studying, cultivating and learning! I am studying to further my education and pursue a Masters in Human Resources Management at Edith Cowan University.
I am also cultivating my personal life with the decisions I make to cherish my loved ones. In all of the experiences, I am learning more and more about the world around me, as well as myself and my place in this life.
Over the last year, I have enjoyed growing with the evolving team. My respect for chiropractic has only grown, as well as a continued interest in assisting people improve their health and overall lives. I greatly look forward to seeing what is next at the Spine Studio.
My introduction to Chiropractic came when my Husband was diagnosed with Scheuermann's and began his journey to better health. After seeing the difference it made in his body and wellbeing, I became interested in the different powers of healing that Chiropractic had.
My previous role as a Travel Agent had me travelling a lot and this took its toll on my body, as well as having 2 kids in 3 years.
Particularly after having my children, my interest in looking after my own health and wellbeing became priority. Once I finally took that leap, I noticed a huge shift in the most enjoyable way.
Since joining The Spine Studio, I have thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the positive impact that our practitioners have on our members. It truly is a pleasure to come in to work every day.
In my spare time, I love hanging out with my husband and 3 boys (2 human and 1 fur). Travelling feeds my soul, the beach is my happy place. Yoga is my quiet time and HIIT keeps me fit.
Remedial Massage Therapist & Post-natal Doula of Halcyon Wellness
My journey with massage began 5 years ago when I took a leap of faith and decided to try my hand at Remedial massage with the move to focus on rehabilitation and injury management.
Within two weeks of the course, I knew this was where I wanted to be and decided to quit the corporate world after 10 years and pursue a whole new career.
As I got further through my studies, my passion also moved towards Pregnancy Massage and I wanted to support women during the amazing transformation pregnancy has on our bodies and minds.
When I fell pregnant with my first daughter, I learnt so much more about the body and the ways we can support it during pregnancy. This is when I began to undertake regular chiropractic care at The Spine Studio.
My own pregnancy sparked a huge passion in women’s health, but also identified gaps in both the need for more specialised care to support a women’s body during pregnancy, as well as emotional support for women post baby. So on top of my body work qualifications I have also completed my training to be a post natal doula.
In my spare time I soak up all the things motherhood has to offer with my two girls. We love going to the beach, indulging in delicious food and spending time with our friends and family.
